Cow dung
Added in v1.0.1
In Minecraft, cows give milk, leather and beef. They don't give dung, which is a historic injustice. Now fixed.
Cows do their business
A cow walks up to a plant it likes (tall or short grass, fern, flower) and grazes on it. If there's none, it eats the grass under its hooves. Every 4 meals, it drops a dung.
You don't have to do anything except watch your cows: they walk to their lunch, eat, and leave a little gift.
Picking it up
Right-click the dung to put it in your inventory. It has no collision, so you can walk through it, but you can still aim at it to pick it up. Green spore particles float around it all the time.
What if we threw it?
Obviously. Right-click with dung in your hand to throw it, even when aiming at a block. It never gets placed on the ground, even while sneaking: only cows are allowed to drop it.
When it hits a player:
- Their screen turns brown for 10 seconds.
- Dung stains stick to them for 20 seconds.
- On a wall or the ground, the dung splats and leaves a mark.
Until they throw up
If three dungs hit the same player within 30 seconds, they throw up: a 2-second sequence, jets of green particles in front of them, a puddle on the ground, then 10 seconds of nausea. They lose 6 hunger points (three drumsticks) and their saturation drops to zero.
If you wait too long between throws, the counter resets after 30 seconds.
The Cacatov advancement ("Make a player throw up with your dung") rewards the feat.
The mushroom variant
One dung in four drops as the mushroom version. When it's raining on the cow, the chance goes up to 40%. You can tell it apart by the little caps growing on it.
When you pick it up, you get the dung and a Psilocybe cubensis. It's the only source of the mushroom: if you want to take a trip, you'll have to raise cows and wait for rain.
